Papaw’s BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Many moons ago, my late Papaw was a wizard on the grill. One of the things he enjoyed cooking was baby back ribs. The recipe below has been slightly modified from the original by The Blonde to include tequila. It seems to cut most of the hoppy taste of the beer. ENJOY!!

1 rack of baby back ribs  (membrane removed)
1-1/2 cans of beer of your choice
1 cup of Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Tequila (or other premium tequila)
1 roasting pan
BBQ sauce of your choice
sheet of aluminum foil

In a deep pan (turkey roaster works great) pour the beer and tequila in, put the rack of ribs in. Next, pour enough water to cover the ribs.  Cover with foil, bake at 400 degrees for 90 minutes.  Take out of the pan, pat dry with a towel; this is so that the BBQ sauce sticks.  Slather with BBQ sauce, and grill until level of desired char is achieved.  Let stand for 10 minutes and serve. 

Make sure you have plenty of napkins.

    I didn’t have any beer but did have some old wine in the ‘fridge. I used about a cup and a half and it turned out great!
