Hot and Spicy Chex Mix

Preheat oven to 250 degrees

In large bowl mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and crackers and set aside:

3 cups Wheat Chex

3 cups Corn Chex

3 cups Cheerios

1 cup pretzels

1 cup mixed nuts

1 cup mini club crackers

in large roasting pan melt 6 T butter

when melted add:

1 T Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 T Tabasco sauce

1 t cajun seasoning (Tony Chachere’s)

1 t garlic salt

1 t onion salt

1 t ceyenne pepper

Gradually stir in cereal mixture until evenly coated.  Bake one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.  Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes.  Store in airtight container.

UPDATE:

My taste tester declared my best batch the best.  This is what I did differently. 

An extra cup each of the cereals.

instead of mixed nuts, I used a can ( 12 oz) of hot and spicy peanuts.

an extra cup of pretzels.

2 cups Gardetto’s Roasted Garlic Rye Chips.

for the butter an seasonings. add half again as much as originally called for.

It’s hot, but it’s good.
